NSW Rebates for Small Businesses

NSW Government has released a $1,500 rebate on fees and charges for small businesses.

Funds can be used to offset the costs of eligible NSW and local government fees and charges paid after 1 March 2021.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Food authority licences
  • Liquor licences
  • Tradesperson licences
  • Event fees
  • Outdoor seating fees
  • Council rates.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Wages below the NSW Government 2020-2021 payroll tax threshold of $1.2 million
  • ABN registered in NSW and/or have business premises physically located and operating in NSW
  • Registered for GST
  • Provide a declaration that business has turnover of at leave $75,000 per year.

Only a total rebate of $1,500 is available for each ABN and claims must be in before 30 June 2022.  As it currently stands, the rebate does not need to be done at once and can be spread out over a number of applications for a total of $1,500.
